This Privacy Policy explains how Winedow, operated by Jason MacLeod ("Winedow", "we", "us", or "our"), collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Winedow mobile application and website (the "Service"). We built Winedow to help you choose wine — not to track you. We aim to collect as little personal information as possible.
Information We Collect
- Camera and scan data. When you scan a wine list, the app processes the image to identify wines and show you matching bottle photos. Images are used to provide this feature and are not used to identify you.
- Account information. If you create an account, we may collect information such as an email address or the identifier provided by your sign-in method.
- Purchase information. Subscriptions and in-app purchases are handled by Apple. We receive confirmation of your purchase status but do not receive your full payment details.
- Usage and device data. We may collect limited, aggregated information such as app version, device type, and basic interaction events to diagnose problems and improve the Service.
How We Use Information
- To provide the core scanning and bottle-matching features;
- To operate, maintain, and improve the Service;
- To manage your account and Premium subscription;
- To respond to your support requests;
- To detect, prevent, and address technical issues, fraud, or abuse;
- To comply with legal obligations.
How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share limited information with:
- Service providers who help us operate the Service (for example, hosting, analytics, and image processing), bound by confidentiality obligations;
- Apple, for processing purchases and subscriptions;
- Authorities, when required by law or to protect our rights and the safety of users.
Data Retention
We keep information only as long as needed to provide the Service and for legitimate business or legal purposes. Scan images are processed to deliver results and are not retained longer than necessary for that purpose.
Your Choices and Rights
- You can control camera and notification permissions in your device settings;
- You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID account settings;
- Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to object to certain processing. To make a request, contact us at support@getwinedow.com.
Children's Privacy
Winedow is intended for users who are of legal drinking age and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
International Users
Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, where data protection laws may differ. By using the Service, you consent to such processing.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes may be communicated within the app.
